Why Are So Many Women Afraid To Go Outside Without Having Makeup On?

Makeup has given many women the opportunity to create art into their  faces, but is it making women dependent and not have enough confidence to go outside without having any makeup on their faces. Social media has become the platform where makeup artists, beauty gurus, and celebrities discuss their favorite makeup products and what makeup they use on a daily basis.

I am subscribe to plenty of beauty gurus on Youtube whose channel is dedicated to nothing, but makeup. I love watching makeup tutorials, but I have no motivation to put any makeup on my face except lip gloss. I think makeup is false advertisement and makes a lot women believe they are not beautiful.

We all as human beings have flaws and how can you consider yourself to be a confident person if you can’t even accept who you truly are on the outside and inside. There was a time in my life where I thought I had to wear makeup to fit in with others, but I had to come to the realization that this my life and if a person can’t accept me for who I am, then I’m just not going to have them in my life.

I have nothing against anyone who wears makeup, but some women literally go overboard when it comes to their makeup. For example, most beauty gurus on Youtube have a room full of makeup and do not need to buy and more makeup for the next couple of months.

These beauty gurus already know they have a large amount of makeup at home, but they still continue to make unnecessary trips to the mall to pick up the latest concealer, highlighter, or eye-shadow from their favorite makeup line. I think some people have an addiction for makeup and make it seem as though their compulsive shopping is regular behavior that every girl who loves makeup does.

I can literally count of my finger the times I have worn makeup. I understand that with makeup you can change up your look, but when are you going to get tired of wearing the mask on your face. Makeup is a mask covering your flaws and not allowing others to see who you really are.

I do not think any woman she tell another woman how to be confident in themselves if you can’t even go outside and not have any makeup on at all. Everyone has their own definition on what beauty is. Beauty is definitely not being able to look a certain way and having validation from society to choose who is beautiful. Most young girls and women look up to celebrities and inspire to look just like them.

When you take off your makeup at night and look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see ? You do not need any validation from anyone to tell you how beautiful you are. You can’t expect others to love you, if you don’t even love yourself. I think it is amazing that there are a couple of celebrities who have started not wearing makeup because they are tired of trying to please others.

Alicia Keys, Lupita Nyongo, Shailey Woodley, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others all are women are  not afraid to be seen in the public eye without any makeup on. Celebrities and models do not like picture-perfect 24/7. No one can look picture-perfect all of the time, sometimes we do not want to take a picture or been seen unless we look decent.

Why do you think filters were made for pictures because a picture can always persuade people to believe a person actually looks a specific way. Makeup can be considered to be a security blanket for many, but you should not be dependent on anything materialistic because makeup can temporary hide your flaws physically, but it can not hide your emotional flaws.

  1. [ Smiles ] The answer is simple; those women who are afraid to go outside without wearing makeup were brainwashed into accepting someone else’s idea of beauty!
