Is Pop Culture Influencing People To Have No Standards Or Morals?

Pop culture consists of popular trends in our society that are showcased on media platforms. Individuals are idolizing celebrities and trying to mimic their lifestyles, but are not realizing that they are changing their standards and morals to try to be like a certain celebrity. There are a variety of disadvantages in pop culture which includes:

– Women are viewed as sex objects
– Female celebrities are influencing everyday women to wear promiscuous clothing
– People are recording others in uncomfortable situations so they can become viral sensations
– Social media creates these different challenges for people to do, which does not have any positive motive behind it
– Celebrities are being rude disrespectful to their fans
– Some individuals are exposing themselves and others by leaking inappropriate videos
– Everyone wants to be a social media philosopher by making videos or posts trying to tell people what they need to do with their life

Social media has changed mankind’s traditional way of how to handle their everyday life. Everyone is so eager to record and upload their personal issues on social media. Celebrities can always get away from saying certain things because they do not live a normal life and do not have to be around people who scrutinize them.

For example, Young Thug, a very popular rapper was criticize for being rude and disrespectful to two airline employees at the airport. Young Thug became furious when the two women were unable to get him on a flight to Seattle, Washington because he had a scheduled concert he needed to attend. Instead of being courteous to the two employees he went on a rampage and even bribed the women with $15,000 to quit their jobs.

It really is unfair and ridiculous how cruel and ugly many of these celebrities really are, but  these individuals they are disrespecting are the people who are their biggest fans. I will never allow myself to look up to any pop culture trend or celebrity because some people do things as a publicity stunt and just want more attention on themselves.

Pop culture influences people to act in a vulgar manner and to believe that it is ok to be inappropriate. I do not like how women are portrayed to be sex objects and we have to look and wear certain things to be accepted in society. More and more women are changing themselves physically to look like the Kardashians, Blac Chyna, Amber Rose, Nicki Minaj, or other female celebrities.

You should not have to change who you are to fit in with the current trends of today. We all have flaws and is does not matter how many things you change about yourself, true beauty comes from the inside. Pop culture is full of negativity and there too many people willing to actually participate then people who can careless what is old or new.

Every trend will go out of style, but will you allow your standards and morals to change as well. No one can define who you are unless you allow them to. Being insecure can push people to do things they might not want to do, but they were constantly pressured by their peers to change their attributes to change apart of who they are.

I do not think it is wise for anyone to put anyone as their idol. No one in this world is in a better position than their neighbor. Money and fame does not make a person better, but sometimes greedy and ruthless. The downfall of many people is that they get too comfortable being or having a specific position that their life can change drastically and everything they once had could be taken away from them in the next heartbeat.

It’s totally fine to be aware of what’s going on in the world, but don’t go for what the crowd is doing. Being a leader requires walking alone at times and having the confidence to not care what people may think or say about you.

  1. [ Smiles ] I would say, “Yes!”

The real issue here is, the people have replaced old-fashioned values and a good spiritual upbringing with pop cultural trash.
